BLIP - Vocational Learning in Production
Built on the basis of a Web2.0-based learning platform

How can learning content and available operational knowledge be transferred in education and further training in a manner that is both interesting and appropriate to the intended target group? While private Internet users are highly networked and communicate via social communities or subject-specific talkboards, vocational education and further training lacks a shared platform for the separate places of learning school, workplace and home.

Understanding and discussing real production flows instead of cramming theoretical processes from a school book: that’s the basic idea behind the BLIP (Berufliches Lernen im Produktionsprozess, Vocational Learning in Production) research project. Since April 2009, partners from industry, research, workers’ representatives and education have been developing an Internet-based learning platform to promote vocational training in production.

The innovative didactic approach uses Web 2.0 technologies and enables the systematic transfer of knowledge between vocational training schools and training companies, thus preparing trainees for the requirements of modern production in a targeted manner.
The IT-supported learning system is suitable both for initial training and for further education in the production workplace.
